World Alliance For Youth Empowerment

Musical Concert for NSS R.D. Campers

The most volatile age in human life is 18-30 years – full of dreams enthusiasm and idealism. On the flipside, either the youngsters get aggressive or they go into a shell.

Why?

Cadet listening to the talk On the occasion of the NSS Republic Day Camp, World Alliance for Youth Empowerment (WAYE) was invited by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to hold a musical evening and an interactive session with 198 top selected NSS cadets on January 28, 2011. The participation in the Republic Day Parade on January 26 is considered as recognition of the selfless community service rendered by the NSS volunteers throughout the country. Since WAYE strongly believes that holistic development of any individual requires a strong spiritual foundation and has been committed to empowering youth worldwide through their workshops, this became an ideal platform for the youngsters to experience the power of meditation and music as a tool toward self-development.

What?

Nirmal Matella taking session The evening commenced with a presentation that encapsulated the wisdom and expertise hidden in the ancient texts of India, such as the Bhagvad Gita. The host for the evening Mr. Nirmal Matella, a young and dynamic faculty of WAYE reminded everyone present of the glorious heritage of India and the treasure trove of knowledge that has been lost to us or suppressed by foreign rulers to degrade our people. Mr. Matella discussed and interacted with the students about the challenges they face in their routine life and some simple ways to deal with them.

Ankit Batra singing The eve's show-stealer was the soulful rendition of devotional songs by Mr. Ankit Batra, another immensely talented and vibrant faculty of WAYE who had the crowd mesmerized and captivated. The mood became truly festive as the crowd took to its feet and pleaded for encores after almost every song. The bhajans became truly joyous and divine as everyone sang along and became a part of invoking the deep power of devotion inside each of us that can give us tremendous strength in life. This was felt intensely by all those present as they were led through a beautiful, musical mediation that relaxed them immensely and deepened the experience of inner bliss.

To conclude the evening, Ms. Mandeep Kaur, another dynamic faculty encouraged the students to channelize this inner bliss towards social transformation. She shared some of the projects run by the organization and inspired the youth to take responsibility for their nation by strengthening themselves from within.

The cadets were hugely inspired and delighted after their month long rigor at the camp. Mrs. Sarada Ali Khan, Director, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports graciously thanked the WAYE team for the inspiring and wonderful evening. She applauded the enthusiasm of the students and championed the need for spiritual quotient in every individual’s life.
