WAYE and Art of Living partnered with the United Nations to support the Millennium Development Goals.

To celebrate the Global Youth Service Day which is the largest annual celebration of young volunteers, millions of young people worldwide highlight and carry out innumerable community improvement projects. In keeping with the UN Millennium Development Goals, WAYE volunteers chose to make its objective to ensure environmental sustainability to be the focus of the Global Youth Service Day.

In April 2007, Global Youth Service Day was a great success across the country and world. Hundreds of young people came together from more than 20 cities across the country, and 6 countries across the world, to plant trees, clean up beaches, and raise awareness about global environmental issues. Participating countries included USA, Kazanlak, Veliko, Tarnovo, Sofia, Plovdiv, Shumen and Stara, Zagora, Bulgaria, Den Haag (The Hague), Netherlands | Warsaw, Otwock, Lodz, Bialystok, Gdansk, Cracow, Rzeszo, Katowice, Taraska, Poland | Paramaribo, Suriname, Edmonton, Canada.

On 16th & 17th Oct 2007, thousands of youth and active citizens gathered in different cities worldwide to urge decision makers to take action to meet the MDG.
