Living Green
The YES!+ community of Thiruvananthapuram, working under World Alliance for Youth Empowerment, organised an event named 'Living Green' in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. In connection with the same, the group celebrated 'The Environment Month'.
What?
A group of youngsters who completed the YES!+ workshop decided to celebrate a month educating and informing people about the environmental threats that we face today.
The event was conducted in association with Indian Youth Climate Network and World Wide Fund for Nature. Some of the activities conducted in connection with the month are listed below:
- Cycle Expedition
- Photography Contest
- 'Plant a Memory' project
- Quizzes and Drawing Competitions in educational institutes
- Street Campaigns
- Awareness Rally
- Musical Concerts led by the popular play-back singer and performer Anand Narayan
All the activities planned were aimed at creating public awareness on the urgent need to take responsibility for conserving nature. The event also brought to attention the various environment problems and the urgent need to find solutions. The event inspired young minds to come forward and do their bit in saving our planet.
