Hasiru Abhiyana - Go Green

Because we hear the cry of our lovely planet which is melting due to global warming, and to initiate our concern, WAYE has undertaken the "Great Green" project. We have always given extra care to the ethos of the earth and believe in building a sustainable environment where it is not just about planting trees but also nurturing them. Hasiru Abhinaya, yet another tree plantation drive for the Great Green, was grounded.

When & Where?

Date: 27th Nov, 2010
Place: Immadhalli Government High School, Whitefield, Bengaluru.

What?

Hasiru Abhiyana, Go Green, was a joint initiative by WAYE (World Alliance for Youth Empowerment) and RCOM (Reliance Communication). Funky Kannada music, children being encouraged to dance, green banners that said Hasiru Abhinaya and a huge picture of Guruji, right on top of the school building, set the stage for a pleasant evening of planting saplings that would grow up to be young and strong trees.

Even while we were shifting the saplings and landscaping the backyard, Reliance Communication employees steadily trickled. It was all set and the guests arrived; Mr R Swaminathan, Karnataka Hub head - Reliance communications planted the first sapling and set tone for the plantation spree! The Chief Guest for the occasion was former FKCCI president Mr. J. Crasta and Mr. Ramprasad, Teacher's Coordinator, Karnataka, officially represented the Art of Living Foundation.
