Great Green Project

There has been a lot of talk about the perils of global warming, a lot of groaning and moaning and complaining, plenty of blaming and pointing of fingers. Very few have actually taken steps towards remedying this problem, World Alliance for Youth Empowerment felt one way to combat this problem would be to plant!

WAYE, in association with The Art of Living Foundation and the United Nations Millennium Campaign, United Nations Environment Programme and Stand Up - Take Action 2008 initiated The Great Green Project - a planet wide campaign to plant and adopt trees. About a hundred thousand trees were planted under this initiative. A website called www.itsmytree.net was created were people could put up pictures of their adopted tree and learn more about the benefits of tree plantation.
