Blood Donation Campaign
The 26/11 Mumbai terror attack not only left hundreds of innocent people injured with indelible memories but also with urgent need of blood. Under this context, Ruby Hall, Pune contacted WAYE for 25 donors on immediate basis.
WAYE, along with Ruby Hall instantly organized a Blood Donation camp at the New English School and surprisingly saw about 150 enthusiastic people especially between those aged between 18-25 years come together to donate a pound of their blood for those in need in Mumbai!
People from all sections of the society joined hands to make a difference to their society. As the youth embarked in sharing their experiences they portrayed their spirit and pride for India. Some were excited and exclaimed, “Scary, but feels good. Feels like doing something towards country.” Some remarked it as an exceptional experience and some said, “We go for picnic on Sundays but instead today me and my group came for Blood donation, it feels like I am Indian now.” Many thanked WAYE for doing a splendid job for taking up responsibility in times of need.
