Bhakti Concert
Bhakti, a concert ideated by WAYE is a mélange of music, wisdom and meditation (Gaan, Gyaan and Dhyaan). It is a perfect platform for new budding talents to express their latent gifts something which they could not have done before at such a large scale. It also has become a showcase of the immense potential of the array of young talents that WAYE possesses. The entire concert is organized, performed and conducted by the youth empowered by the YES!+ course of WAYE.
A team of young and immensely gifted singers – Anagha, Krishnan, Divya, Lexmi and Ajit; and musicians - Fahad, Jack and Sujit, mentored by Mr. Harshal Pulekar, also the Co-ordinator of Music travel places for performances. Intense training and practice in classical music enhance the beauty of the songs sung by the team. Popular and heart warming classics in Hindi and English, are sung along with regional favourites in Marathi, Kannada, Tamil etc. Thus Bhakti has now evolved to become a melting pot of culture, art and music from different parts of India.
The purpose of Bhakti is beyond being just an entertainer for it audience and a showcase of talent, a troop of 14 volunteers, professional musicians and vocalists travels places to raise funds for building the future campus for the youth, The International Centre for Youth Empowerment, in Vasind, near Mumbai.
The first Bhakti took place in the entertainment capital of India in April 2010 in Mumbai and the huge success of it is now taking the concert to different cities across India. Already held in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Nagpur and Chennai; Bhakti is now scheduled to take place in various other places as well. More than 7000 people have enjoyed the concerts and contributed towards the youth centre.
