Barsana Afforestation Project

WAYE is committed to the protection, care and enhancement of the environment, a cause that directly impacts the lives of the young people for generations to come.

To support this cause, WAYE partnered with Nokia for afforestation of Rithoda village in the Barsana district, near Mathura. More than 10,000 saplings have been planted under this initiative.

First phase of plantation was completed by July 2010 and saplings of Pilkhan, Gulmohar, Champa, Mango, Boganvilia, Inerme and Lal badshah have been planted, as they are apt for the hardy, drought resistant and arid region of Barsana. Saplings have been planted on both sides of long connecting roads, so as to provide shade all along to the visitors and locals. Plantation has also been done in school campuses and individual houses, in front of temple, on pathways and on approach roads.
